Description

Bread for the City (“BFC”) completed a $26M campaign to build a new, 27,650 square foot comprehensive service center at 1700 Good Hope Road SE. BFC’s new Southeast Center will serve 20,000 clients through 75,000 visits. The new facility will bring BFC’s primary medical, dental and vision care services east of the Anacostia River for the first time in the organization’s history.

The building will include a Jobs Center to allow for expansion of BFC’s successful Pre-Employment Program, install a community fitness center with locker rooms and showers, and create space to grow all other existing programs: food and clothing distribution, comprehensive social services, legal advice and representation, and community organizing and advocacy.

Inventa Towers

Description

Foulger-Pratt, in partnership with Cerberus Capital Management, acquired the former Discovery Communications Headquarters building in Q3 2018. The existing building consists of two towers, a connecting atrium, and three levels of underground parking. The development team plans to make improvements to the existing property to better position the property for multiple tenant occupants. Planned improvements include a new fitness amenity, a redesigned public plaza, and an additional lobby to serve the Colesville Tower.

The expansion of Ricketts Hall, that commenced in January 2018, represents one of the Naval Academy’s Physical Mission strategic priorities. With nearly 25,000 square feet of functional usage and interactive exhibit space, the center will celebrate the storied history of Navy athletics while simultaneously serving as a testament to the Naval Academy’s profound commitment to the physical development of the entire Brigade of Midshipmen. Located adjacent to Ricketts Hall, this impressive facility will present the many facets of the Physical Mission to the Academy’s more than two million annual visitors.

Description

The building was constructed in 1910 for the Darby Printing Company, designed by the firm of Walker&Chase. Its façade features banks of large triple-paired windows to provide natural light into the building; it is also noteworthy for being an unusually tall and large example of a timber-framed structure. The building is capped by a prominent projecting cornice mounted to a high front parapet wall; the storefront is not original. The building is more commonly known as the long-time home of Weschler’s Auction House.
